Acrylic Pouring

Try something different this year with the exciting new art form that is Acrylic Pouring. Be introduced to this new creative skill by talented local artist, Susan Westman.

Acrylic Pouring refers to a fluid painting technique which is used to create unique and eye-catching artistic designs by pouring acrylic paint straight onto canvas. The technique allows artists to apply different colours in variations of puddles, pools and marble-like patterns, resulting in a smooth, glossy finish.

Full Day Acrylic Pouring Experience

30 June | 9:45 – 16:00

Join for a fun filled day of acrylic pouring experience! Throughout the day you will learn all the best tips and different techniques, as well as creating your own masterpieces! Please see the plan for the day below.

  • Begin the day with an introduction to acrylic pouring. Learning all the best tips and pouring recipes that Susan has to offer. You will create beautiful coasters to take home and be filled with invaluable knowledge.

  • As midday approached, a break for lunch will be taken. This includes scones with cream and jam, a sandwich, a slice of cake and a tea or coffee per person.

  • In the afternoon you will continue to explore and try further acrylic pouring techniques on a traditional canvas. You will create two masterpieces using two of the following techniques from Susan’s advanced classes; swipe, floating cup, ring pour or fountain pour. These will be sized between 8 x 8" and 10 x 12". You will need to take your wet work home in travel boxes provided.

  • After a tea break is taken, you will try your hand at the latest trending fluid artform of ‘Bloom Pouring’. Layering paint, blow paint and spin it! This one's a completely different recipe, so Susan will make it all up beforehand. You just get to do just the fun bit and create some beautiful small bloom pieces to take home too.

Everything needed is provided including handouts with recipes and reminder information learnt. Please wear old clothes as things can get a little messy!

Please email info@leonardsleegardens.co.uk if you have any allergies or dietary requirements.

About Susan Westman

*Image from Susan Westman website

She is truly humbled by my wonderful customers who keep my passion for art afloat.

Susan is very passionate about creativity. She says that it's so good for the soul, body and mind, Susan aim to inspire as many people as possible to fully embrace their inner creativity.

Susan has been teaching acrylic pouring for multiple years now and proudly have 100% great feedback from all my attendees.

Susan will share her own recipe which is more affordable (key when getting though a lot of it) but also archival (if you create master piece, it will last forever). Tips for natural cell production and looking at additives to get cells every time. Types of paints that can be used.

Paint consistency, this makes or breaks a painting so Susan shall work with you to feel comfortable with the consistency of your paints ready for pouring. Key when learning to acrylic pour.

A look at a handful of canvases Susan use to give you ideas and the opportunity to question me while your creative juices are flowing.

Please note: This is very much an introduction to the art form of acrylic pouring; you will not leave feeling like an expert and in fact will possibly have more questions than prior to doing the workshop! But the first steps of the journey can be taken with Susan and she is extremely happy to be here to take you through this fun and exciting workshop!
