About Matt Goddard

Matt left his office career behind to follow his dreams as a landscape photographer. Teaching photography is an area Matt loves and has successfully taught 100+ students through one-to-one lessons and group workshops

Growing up in Sussex, Matt truly recognises the rich and varied Sussex Landscape. Spending much of his childhood in, on or near the sea left a lasting impression that continues to influence his art; particularly a desire for simplicity, space and a feeling of connection to the natural world. Or, summed up in a gesture it’s that “ahhhh” decompression we all experience when the moment elevates us beyond our wordly problems.

Matt enjoys creating a feeling of peace and tranquillity in his photography that counters the increasing intensity of the commercial world we live in. He sees it as a form of mindfulness where space and creative expression can be achieved.

Award-winning Photographer!

Winning top prize in the annual South Downs National Park photography competition. Matt Goddard said he was "truly honoured" to have been given the award for his shot, titled "Snow on Wolstonbury".

Mr Goddard, from Hurstpierpoint, added his love of exploring the South Downs "started during childhood" and "hasn't stopped since".
