Family Festive Willow Workshop
16 November | 13:30 - 14:30
Join Julie from Mindful Makers for an afternoon of festive fun! Children aged 8+ and their accompanying adults will co-create a willow Christmas tree and a willow reindeer. Using natural willow, you will make beautiful festive decorations to take home and treasure.
As we will be using natural materials, please bring gardening gloves if you wish; note that willow contains salicin, which may cause an allergic reaction in people sensitive to aspirin, so gloves may be worn during the workshop if this applies to you.
£15 per child | £12.50 for accompanying siblings | 10% Off for Leonardslee Members
Garden Entry included | Free parking for Leonardslee members | Parking information
Children must be accompanied by an adult, who will need a Leonardslee membership or Garden Entry | Accompanying adults/carers also receive 50% off garden entry when pre-booked, making it a great day out for you and your children to enjoy to the full!
About Julie
With many years of experience teaching and supporting children in their learning, she has seen how much they love to connect with nature. She believes this connection is essential for their emotional development and mental wellbeing. Inspiring children to appreciate and protect the natural environment is at the heart of her work.
She believes that hands-on, outdoor learning experiences are vital to excite and engage children. Through Nature Makers workshops, young learners are inspired by the natural world, develop new skills, and grow their creativity.
Alongside Nature Makers, she also runs Mindful Makers, offering mindful, nature-inspired craft classes for adults. With extensive experience in willow weaving, she provides friendly and affordable workshops that introduce participants to this ancient craft. Weaving is not only a skill but also a mindful practice that can positively impact wellbeing, offering a chance to slow down and enjoy some much-needed “me” time.
