Halloween at Leonardslee: The Potion Master’s Quest

A spellbinding Halloween adventure awaits...

A mysterious quest begins in the gardens this October and throughout half-term. Young alchemists are invited to collect their Alchemist's Activity Book before setting off on a self-led journey through Leonardslee's beautiful autumn gardens. 

Along the way, you'll solve magical riddles, uncover hidden letters, tackle a fun obstacle course and complete their activity book using stickers. With every challenge completed, they'll move one step closer to unlocking the cauldron's secret, earning the prestigious Potion Master title and receiving a mysterious prize.

Free Halloween Crafts

17 October- 1 November | 10:00 - 15:00

Once you have completed the trail, visit The Studio to enjoy free drop-in Halloween craft activities. 

Children can colour in magical Halloween-themed activity sheet or design their very own Potion Master bookmark to take home, the perfect keepsake from their autumn adventure. 

Both crafts are self-led and available throughout the day, making them an ideal way to enjoy a quiet creative moment before or after exploring the gardens.

Spooky Silent Disco  

Get ready for a Halloween party like no other! Step into The Courtyard at Leonardslee for a Spooky Silent Disco filled with glowing lights, three DJs, and all your favourite Halloween hits.   

Best Day out with Kids 

Step into a world of adventure at our vast 2,500m² play park, where endless fun awaits children of all ages. Parents can enjoy a day of exploration, creativity, and memorable moments shared with their little ones. 

Visit our wallaby enclosure to see our little joeys being fed. Wallaby feeding time 12:00 – 12:15 

Live Life in Full Bloom 

Every visit brings something new to discover and as a Leonardslee member enjoy unlimited adventures all year long across 240 acres of stunning lakes, woodlands, and wildlife.  

Make the most of every visit with a Family Membership, designed to fit around you. Each time you visit, you can bring up to three children aged 2–16, and they don’t need to be named in advance.

  Do I need to book garden entry alongside trail tickets? 
  Garden entry is required for non-members. Leonardslee members and children under 2 receive free garden entry. 

  Are members required to book a trail ticket? 
  Yes, members will need to book a trail ticket for each participating child. Tickets are £2.50 per child member. 

  Do children under 2 need a trail ticket? 
  Children under 2 receive free garden entry. If they would like to complete the Halloween Trail, they will need a trail ticket. 

  Where do we collect the booklet and sticker sheet? 
  You will collect your activity book and sticker sheet when you enter the gardens at reception. 

  Where is prize collection? 
  Prize collection will be from The Information Hut. 

  Is the craft included? 
  Yes, free crafts are included and will take place in The Studio. 

  What time is the craft available? 
  Crafts will be available from 10:00 to 16:00. 

  Can the trail be completed in any order? 
  Yes, the trail is self-led, so you can complete it at your own pace. 

  Is the trail suitable for younger children? 
  Yes, the trail is suitable for children aged 2 to 11. 

  What happens if it rains? 
  The trail will go ahead in wet weather, so please dress appropriately. 

  What will each child receive?
  Each participating child will receive an Alchemist’s Activity Book, stickers and a mysterious prize on completion. 

  • Accessibility & Family Information
    The experience is self-led and suitable for families with children.  Visitors are welcome to explore the trail at their own pace.  

  • The trail takes place outdoors, so we recommend wearing suitable clothing and comfortable footwear for the season. 

  • As a historic garden, some paths are uneven and may become slippery in wet weather.  
    Accessible routes are available through many areas of the gardens
