LEONARDSLEE LIGHTS
presents
“A Midwinter Light’s Dream- A Garden Awakening”
This winter Leonardslee Lights returns with a dazzling new route and expanded cast of light, sound and spectacle. Wander through woodland scenes bathed in light, music and mystery as nature becomes the backdrop to a magical evening performances. Each installation is a carefully crafted scene, inspired by the beauty of Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens and brought to life with theatrical flair.
Behind the Magic
Leonardslee Lights is shaped by an evolving community of artistic collaborators from nationally acclaimed studios to emerging local talent. At the heart of our creative direction are Ithaca Studio, award-winning sound designer Dan Fox, and the spellbinding performers of ThirdSpace, whose talents have helped define the immersive magic of our trail.
But this is only the beginning. We're committed to building long-term partnerships with local makers, musicians, artists, and storytellers, ensuring that each year’s experience reflects not only innovation in light and sound, but the creative spirit of the region itself.
Leonardslee Lights 2025
A Midwinter Light’s Dream
In 2025, Leonardslee was transformed into a spellbinding world of light, sound, and imagination.
A reimagined trail wound through the Grade I listed woodland, brought vividly to life with glowing colour, immersive music, and moments of pure magic.
Each turn revealed something extraordinary: moonlight shimmering across still waters, trees alive with dancing light, and mysterious figures emerging from the shadows to guide visitors deeper into the experience.
Leonardslee Lights 2024
A Midwinter Light’s Dream
Step into a world where every tree becomes a stage, every light tells a story, and the landscape itself comes alive with drama and wonder.
Last year, we asked our audience to step into
A Midwinter Light’s Dream a spellbinding new chapter in the Leonardslee Lights journey, where art, nature, and imagination entwine beneath the stars.
Sustainably Staged
Behind the spectacle is a deep respect for the natural world that inspires it.
Leonardslee Lights is designed with sustainability in mind, from low-energy LED installations and intelligent power management to carefully planned routes that protect our woodland habitats.
We work closely with the gardening team to ensure that the beauty you see illuminated at night continues to thrive in the daylight.
Because in this theatre of nature, the land is not just a stage, it’s the star.

WHAT’S TO COME
LONGER, IMMERSIVE & MORE SPECTACULAR
Leonardslee Lights returns for 2026 with an extended, reimagined trail. Longer, more immersive, and more spectacular than ever before.
This year, the experience unfolds as a journey through the gardens and the changing seasons, where light, sound and nature come together in a series of evolving scenes. From the first moments on the trail to the final glow, visitors are guided through a landscape shaped by the elements, flickers of fire, shifting atmospheres and dramatic installations that transform the gardens after dark.
For 2026, we’ve carefully enhanced the trail, introducing striking new large-scale pieces, richer storytelling, and a more considered flow, creating a deeper, more captivating experience throughout.
Set within Sussex’s most beautiful Grade I listed woodland gardens, this is an unforgettable night-time journey through light, seasonality and place.
EXPANDED LEONARDSLEE VILLAGE
Leonardslee Village returns as a lively hub at the heart of the experience. For 2026 it is open both before and after your journey through the lights.
With an indoor covered bar, firepits for marshmallow roasting, freshly made doughnuts, live performances, and both indoor and outdoor seating, it’s the perfect place to begin your evening or unwind afterwards. This year, the Village will feature an expanded programme of live entertainment, bringing even more atmosphere and energy across the night.
Enjoy mulled wine, local food and seasonal treats in a relaxed, festive setting.
Guests are welcome to arrive ahead of their allocated trail entry time to soak up the atmosphere in the Village, or stay a little longer after completing the trail to make the most of everything on offer.
