Enjoy luxury garden picnics in the heart of West Sussex at Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens. Set across 240 acres of Grade I listed woodland gardens, lakes and vineyard views, our pre-bookable picnic experiences offer one of the most unique outdoor dining experiences, surrounded by beautiful blooming gardens and seven interlocking lakes, Leonardslee lakes and gardens is an ideal escape for the perfect picnic.  

With a selection of indulgent picnics to choose from, including a children's picnic basket, afternoon tea and an ultimate hamper, all freshly prepared for you to enjoy across the . You can collect from our Clocktower Kitchen and enjoy in our gardens at your leisure. Bring your picnic blanket or use one of our many benches located throughout the estate and in the vineyard and let us take the hassle out of your visit!

What you need to know:

  • Picnics must be pre-ordered online and can be done at least 24 hours prior to your visit

  • Garden entry is required for non-members

  • Dogs on short leads are always welcome

  • If weather prohibits outdoor dining, then space within our Clocktower Kitchen or Alpine House is available

Important points to remember: 

  • Your picnic will be served in one of our Leonardslee picnic baskets, we will ask you for a refundable £20 per basket, or you can choose to keep yours and take it home with you! (they come in a variety of colours)

    All of the utensils in our cafés are compostable, this includes cutlery, napkins, plates and cups. 

    Please make our gardens happy and use the designated rubbish bins found throughout the estate.

    Our menus are subject to change.

  • You are welcome to bring your own picnic blanket or use one of our many benches located throughout the estate and in the vineyard and let us take the hassle out of your visit!

  • We hope you have the best weather for your picnic with us, but if that’s not the case on they day of your visit then you can find indoor seated space within our Clocktower Kitchen.

  • We can provide vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options for picnics, when checking out you will get the option to choose which type of picnic you would like and if you have any dietary requirements.

  • Only food or drink purchased at Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens is allowed for consumption on our property. Unfortunately no outside food or drink is allowed with the exception of bottled water.
