A Summer Family Day Out at Leonardslee
Space to roam this summer
Summer days are made for space, fresh air and a little bit of adventure.
At Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens, families can explore 240 acres of gardens, lakes, woodland paths and outdoor fun, all set within the rolling High Weald just outside Horsham.
From the moment you arrive, there is room to roam. Follow lakeside paths, look out for wallabies, wander through shaded woodland and discover seasonal colour across the gardens. With long views, open lawns and plenty of places to pause, Leonardslee is made for relaxed family days outdoors.
Play, explore and discover
Younger visitors can burn off energy in the Play Park, while grown-ups enjoy the rare joy of watching children entertain themselves without a screen being involved.
Around the estate, there are sculptures to spot, wildlife to watch and quiet corners for picnics, snacks and slower moments between adventures.
Summer colour across the gardens
Summer brings even more to discover, with wildflowers around the lakes and Deer Park, hydrangeas near the Garden Shop and The Clocktower Kitchen, and colourful borders coming into their peak around Leonardslee House and the cafés.
Model boats on the lakes
For a gentle summer highlight, visit on selected dates until September to see model boats on Waterfall Pond, with yachts, steamboats and warship displays from the Schooner Radio Control Group.
It is a charming addition to a family visit, especially for children who love anything that moves, floats or looks suspiciously like it requires a grown-up hobby budget.
The Labyrinth Challenge
From 24 to 26 July, The Labyrinth Challenge brings high-energy family fun to Leonardslee, with more than 1,000ft of inflatable obstacles, jumps and slides.
Little ones under 1.2m can enjoy the Toddler Zone, while older children and adults take on the full challenge.
With full garden access included, it is the perfect way to turn an event into a full summer day out.
Make a day of it
Whether you are visiting for the Play Park, wallabies, lakes, summer events or simply a day outdoors together, Leonardslee gives families the space to explore, reconnect and make the most of the season.
