Leonardslee in Spring, on Screen

Spring at Leonardslee is never static. It moves quietly, week by week, as colour travels through the landscape and the gardens begin to open.

This year, that moment has been captured on film.

We’re pleased to share that Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens will feature in Episode 4 of Gardeners’ World, bringing the early spring season to screens across the UK.

What to Expect

In this episode, Monty Don returns with practical advice and inspiration from his own garden, while Ashley Edwards visits a spring garden in Horsham, exploring the sense of renewal that defines the season.

Filmed here at Leonardslee, the feature captures the gardens just as they begin to awaken. Camellias in bloom, magnolias opening and the first signs of what will become a spectacular rhododendron display.

It’s a quieter moment in the calendar, one that rewards those who notice the detail.

When to Watch

The episode will be broadcast on BBC Two:

  • Friday 3 April, 20:00

  • Saturday 4 April, 08:55

  • Thursday 9 April, 08:00

It will also be available on BBC iPlayer for the following year.

A Garden in Transition

Spring at Leonardslee is defined by change. What you see one week rarely holds the next.

This feature captures that fleeting moment, where structure, colour and light begin to return and the gardens move gently into the season ahead.

For those who know Leonardslee, it will feel familiar.
For those discovering it for the first time, it offers a glimpse of what’s to come.
