Three Leonardslee sparkling wines have received glowing reviews from two of the UK's most respected wine experts, Oz Clarke and Tom Surgey, as part of their English Wine Heroes 2026.
Following their visit to Leonardslee in June, the renowned wine critics have shared their tasting notes for three of our English sparkling wines, recognising the distinctive character and quality of our Blanc de Blancs 2020, Brut Reserve 2022 and Brut Rosé 2022.
The recognition is a wonderful endorsement of our wines, particularly our latest 2022 vintage releases, and another exciting moment for Leonardslee Family Vineyards.
Three Wines That Caught Their Attention
Leonardslee Blanc de Blancs 2020
Described as "delicately poised, fresh and taut", our Blanc de Blancs 2020 impressed with its rich white apple and peach notes, fine acidity and intense, concentrated finish.
Oz and Tom also praised its ageing potential, predicting "many years of great drinking ahead of it."
Leonardslee Brut Reserve 2022
Our Brut Reserve 2022 was celebrated as "a bright zinger of a sparkling white wine", with inviting notes of apple turnover, warm peach and a delicate hint of fresh fennel.
A touch of spicy brioche on the finish suggests there is even more to discover as the wine develops.
Leonardslee Brut Rosé 2022
Full of personality, our Brut Rosé 2022 received an equally enthusiastic review, with notes of strawberry, cherry and freshly baked croissant.
Described as "taut, tense and moreish", Oz and Tom praised its balance of richness and freshness, recommending it as "great with food or on its own."
