Christmas Block Printing: Festive Napkins & Cards
13 December | 10:00 – 14:00
Step into a cosy festive workshop in The Studio at Leonardslee and discover the timeless art of Christmas block printing with Jenney Kelly. Using beautifully hand-carved wooden printing blocks, you’ll explore colour, pattern and design while creating your own handcrafted seasonal pieces in a relaxed and creative setting.
Following an introductory demonstration, you’ll have time to practice your printing techniques on paper before moving onto cotton calico. Choose from a collection of festive-inspired blocks to print your own set of four napkins, tea towel and tote bag or silk scarf, alongside a set of cards, envelopes and a pouch to keep them in.
Suitable for all abilities, this workshop requires no previous experience and all materials will be provided, with items prepared ready for printing. Guests are advised to wear suitable clothing and bring an apron, as paints will be used. Information on fixing your prints at home will also be shared on the day. If you have your own wooden printing blocks, you are welcome to bring them along.
This workshop is suitable for all levels with no previous experience necessary. See what you need to bring below.

About Jenney Kelly
Several years ago, Jenney rekindled her love of textiles and began creating a range of bags using contemporary and vintage textiles. This soon evolved into hand block printing her own fabrics and designing bespoke printing blocks, which ultimately led her to Jaipur, India, where she learned first-hand from master artisans of this endangered craft. Jenney is a member of Heritage Crafts and has been featured in Country Living and Prima magazines for her block printing, bag making and voluntary textile restoration work for a heritage railway.
