An autumn day out in West Sussex: gardens, wine and Leonardslee House

Autumn is one of the easiest seasons in which to make a full day of Leonardslee. The gardens change pace, the estate takes on richer colour and there is now another reason to make your way towards Leonardslee House.

From 2 October, The Drawing Room becomes a new home for wine experiences from Leonardslee Family Vineyards. Both of the scheduled experiences include garden entry for the full day, so you can plan your visit around the landscape rather than treating the tasting as a separate appointment.

For a relaxed day, begin by exploring the gardens at your own pace before heading to The Drawing Room for Tale of the Swallow at 13:00. The one-hour guided tasting includes four Leonardslee English sparkling wines and an introduction to the estate story. Afterwards, you still have time to continue your visit.

If you would rather have someone lead part of the day for you, From Gardens to Glass combines a guided garden walk with a four-wine tasting. Sessions run for two hours, with both morning and afternoon options.

The pleasure of autumn at Leonardslee is that there is no need to over-programme it. Leave space to follow paths that look interesting, spend time beside the lakes and let the day unfold around your booked wine experience.

The Drawing Room also gives you an indoor moment within the visit. After time outside, settling into Leonardslee House with a glass of sparkling wine feels particularly well timed once the air turns cooler.

For couples, friends or visiting family, it creates a simple formula for an autumn day out in West Sussex: gardens first, wine when you are ready, and enough time around both to enjoy them.

Pre-booking is required for Drawing Room wine experiences. Check the latest opening information and availability before travelling.
