Leonardslee crime festival

2nd and 3rd March 2019

The ultimate thriller for fans of crime fiction

Enjoy the best of crime writing in the South East of England at the first Leonardslee Crime Festival, presented by the Book Lovers' Supper Club, where the UK's best-known crime writers will entertain, chill and thrill audiences in  specially-crafted events held at beautiful Leonardslee Gardens, near Horsham, West Sussex.

Saturday 2nd March 14:30 - 16:30

Solve the crime, then enjoy Leonardslee's classic afternoon tea, served in style at your table.

The Killer Women is a collective of female crime-writers who work together to put on exciting, innovative crime fiction events around the country. Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to solve their Murder Mystery… there is a prize for the winning team!

'It's no surprise when the body of Essex-man Eddie Glass is found floating in the swimming pool of his mansion. Eddie's involvement in Essex's demi-monde of nightclubs, strip clubs and drugs made him an obvious target. But the truth, it turns out, lies closer to home. Can you beat DI Alan Barnes at his own game and uncover the truth about who killed Eddie Glass?'

Misleading you will be best-selling crime writers Elly Griffiths, Colette McBeth, Mel McGrath & Julia Crouch, plus top cop Graham Bartlett.

Afternoon Tea will then be brought to your table overlooking the stunning Leonardslee gardens. It includes finger sandwiches, seasonal savouries, scones, patisseries, cakes and a choice of teas.

Tickets £48.56 (Includes booking fee).

Saturday 2nd March 19:00 - 22:00

Enjoy a gourmet, three-course meal in Leonardlee's exclusive Interlude restaurant, then sit back and be chilled by bestselling crime author Erin Kelly, who will be asking: 'Have we killed the psychological thriller?'

Under chef Jean Delport, Interlude offers the best in fine dining, with menus designed around produce grown, found and foraged on the Leonardslee estate. A selection of wine, hand-picked to complement your meal, will be available.

Tickets £80.54 (Includes booking fee).

Sunday 3rd March 10:00 - 12:30

Hone your writing skills with Dorothy Koomson, author of numerous bestsellers, and former senior policeman and author Graham Bartlett.

If you're a crime writer who needs to know more about the subject, this masterclass will inform, entertain and inspire you.

Dorothy Koomson has written 13 books - including The Ice Cream Girls, which was made into a TV mini-series - and most recently The Brighton Mermaid.

As an author, advisor to crime writer Peter James and former Chief Superintendent of Brighton & Hove, police procedure and forensic detail is Graham Bartlett's forte. His book Death Comes Knocking was a Sunday Times bestseller.
